From Brief to Final Cut

Every cut starts with a 3-line brief. Tone, length, target. If we can't agree on those, no edit will land.

The trick most editors miss is consistency โ€” not just from shot to shot, but from beat to beat. When the rhythm of your cuts matches the rhythm of your subject, the audience stops noticing the edit and starts feeling the story.

Three things we do differently

  • Match the look reel. Color isn't a filter โ€” it's a brief.
  • Pace by intent. Slow when it matters, tight when it doesn't.
  • Caption like a copywriter. Subtitles are read; they should be written.

That's the whole game. The polish on top โ€” transitions, grade, sound design โ€” only lands when those three are right.

What this looks like in practice

Pick a recent piece you've shipped, mute it, and watch the cuts alone. If the rhythm carries you through, you're done. If your eyes drift, you have edit notes โ€” and they're more valuable than any plugin.
